I am so ridiculously sick of men pretending that misandry is as bad as misogyny or that the two are in any way alike. It’s true that some women hate men, but the way that men hate women and the way that women hate men are completely different.
Men are taught to hate women from the day they are born. Women are taught to love men from the day they are born. Men hate women because they are women, whereas women only hate men because they hate women. Women’s hate is reactionary.
Most importantly, men’s hate is institutionalised whereas women’s hate is an individual thing. Women’s hatred of men is always loud and obvious and for men, easy to avoid. Men’s hatred of women is ingrained in society. It is not immediately obvious. It is quiet, and as a result far more deadly.
Misandry has never been equal to misogyny, and while we live in a patriarchal society it never will be.
